Job Title: Sr. Java Programmer/Analyst

Location: Irvine, CA

Duration: 12 months

Rate: $72/hr c2c

 

Interview process: Must be local and interview in-person.

 

Position Overview Skills & Experience:

 

·         The Programmer / Analyst roles work as part of a team responsible for new application development and/or improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business.

·         Specific assignments may include application design and development, coding for enhancements and fixes, testing, maintenance and support.

·         Base level of programming competency is required and may be specific to C++, JAVA, NOTES, .Net, C#, PowerBuilder, Smalltalk, or other as identified by the actual open position.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

 

·         Advanced knowledge of programming language(s), software development tools and environment(s)and systems analysis and functional design.

·         General knowledge of database design and database concepts.

·         Advanced knowledge of application design principles, practices, system development methodologies and software life cycles.

·         Thorough knowledge of project/task estimation and planning.

·         Thorough knowledge of software change control procedures.

·         General knowledge of documentation and training.

·         Demonstrated ability to participate in all phases of application software development.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead some phases of application software development.

·         Demonstrated ability to evaluate user needs or specifications and translate them in a logical and practical set of software components.

·         Demonstrated ability to direct the activities of programmers and programmer/analysts within a project.

 

Other Attributes Desired:

 

Consultant should be proficient in and have business experience in the following technical areas:

 

·         Object Orientation Concepts, Analysis and Design (OOAD)

·         Java

·         J2EE

·         Web Services

·         JDBC

·         Swing (preferred, but not required)

·         Database

·         SQL

·         Oracle PL/SQL (preferred, but not required)

·         Application Server Development such as Weblogic

·         .Net

·         C# (Winforms and/or WPF) (preferred, but not required)

·         ANT Script (preferred, but not required)

·         Development Tools such as WSAD, Eclipse, ClearCase (preferred but not required)

·         O-R mapping tool such as Hibernate (preferred but not required)

·         Unix scripting such as Korn shell (preferred but not required)
