Job Title: MS SQL DBA

Description of Contractor Duties:
- Must be a very senior candidate with excellent, client facing communication skills. Everything on this skills list is important.
- This will be a large SQL migration from 2005 to 2008, involving SSIS packages, DTS packages, and both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of SQL Server.
- A senior SQL Server Consultant dedicated to perform the needed technical upgrade of SQL Server Relational Database Management Systems supporting the Claim applications (CTS, CAIS, and CTS04) and the Data warehouse.
Skills & Experience:
- Expert knowledge of feature sets and database administration best practices for SQL server 2000, SQL server 2005, and SQL Server 2008, both standard and enterprise editions, including: Mirroring, Database replication, Transaction Log Shipping, Full Text Search, Resource Governor, Policy Management, Database Encryption, Management Data Warehouse, Query Plans, Database Auditing and Data Resource Collection
- Experience with designing for Database High Availability
- Experience with SQL server in stand-alone and clustered environments, SQL server in a virtualized environment, preference for knowledge with VMware
- Experience with both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of SQL Server, experience upgrading both OLTP and Data Warehousing databases
- Experience with in place and side by side upgrades, including the use of multiple instances, from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and 2008
- Experience in migrating DTS packages from 2000 to 2005 and 2008
- Experience in migrating SSIS packages and database maintenance plans from SQL Server 2005 to 2008
- Experience providing leadership to other personnel in a fast paced development environment
