20310-01 TWSS - Unix, Perl Tester

Looking for a functional tester with strong backend experience. Perl and shell scripting with Unix and QTP are very important.

Business Justification:

To relieve development community of responsibility for development and maintenance of server-side automated test development, maintenance, execution, and support. Also to aid in the overall TX-OTCdb QA effort by helping to manage test cases, execution and manage defects, as well as insure the depth and coverage of unit testing.

Position Description:

• Work with development and analysis groups to implement automated testing solutions using our existing automated server testing processes, as well as developing new solutions as needed.
• Liaise with testing managers, developers, business analysts, and operations users to determine the scope of tests for automation
• Develop or manufacture test data as needed, as well as participate in configuration of test environments to support testing efforts.
• The test engineer will also write scripts and processes which aid in the overall testing effort of our project, such as test data identification and capture scripts.
• Producing test code coverage statistics & monitoring improvement over time
• Conducting load, stress and performance testing on the system
• Responsibilities will also include test and defect management for ongoing testing efforts, as well as periodic manual test execution (we are a testing-heavy group; developers routinely test in an integrated environment before handing over to front-to-back groups).

Skills Required:

• Must be able to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing business and technical environment.
• The work requires an experienced and technically minded all-rounder. Must be as comfortable in an IDE as in QC or working with testers.
• The test engineer should be a Java developer, including Junit.
• Must be comfortable in the distributed computing environment
• Applicant should have specific experience with some of the following: Perl or other scripting language, Linux, SQL, DB2 or Sybase, XML, MQ,
• Must be familiar with code management tools such as perforce
• Must be a strong communicator, with a desire to understand the juncture of business test cases and technical implementation.
• Extensive experience developing automated testing tools is a must.

Skills Desired:

• Experience with performance testing
• Knowledge of AFS tcp/ip
• Understanding of automated build tools such as electric commander
• Knowledge of latest QA methodologies, such as test driven development
